Autism Therapy
My practice provides neuroaffirming care that celebrates autistic identity rather than attempting to “mask” or “fix” it. For many autistic individuals, traditional therapy can feel invalidating; here, we focus on sensory processing, energy management, and navigating a world not built for neurodivergent minds. We explore your specific sensory profile and communication style, working to reduce burnout and increase self-advocacy. This is a space where your neurotype is respected, and our goals are defined by what actually makes your life better, not by societal norms.
Treatment Approach
My approach to neurodivergence is strictly neuroaffirming. I do not view Autism or ADHD as deficits to be corrected, but as unique neurotypes. Treatment is sensory-based, focusing on how your brain processes the world around you. We use evidence-based strategies to manage executive function and sensory overwhelm, ensuring that every intervention honors your autonomy and lived experience as a neurodivergent individual.
Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond, LCT-C
If you’re looking for a therapist who understands obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, grief, or misophonia, I’m here to help. My personal mental health experience with the above has led me to a career where I’ve chosen to help others who are walking a similar path. Enough about me… this is about you. I work with clients who are struggling with sensory needs, stuck thoughts, productivity, loss and whatever else life throws their way. When it comes to therapy, I’m here to walk beside you on your journey. You’re the expert on yourself, and my job is to help support you as best I can with psychotherapy approaches. When it comes to therapy, I’m here to walk beside you on your journey. You’re the expert on yourself, and my job is to help support you as best I can with psychotherapy approaches.
In my practice I offer evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, including CBT for Misophonia which omits traditional exposure therapy and instead focuses on the emotional aftermath of the condition. I believe in therapy that is flexible to the needs of my client, whether that’s talking it out in the moment or structured worksheets.
