Resource: Fredericton Addiction and Mental Health Services provides mental health services for the Fredericton area.

Canadian Mental Health Association (New Brunswick)
Resource: Per their website, ” the CMHA provides workshops, peer support, and other mental-health and wellness oriented resources”.
Credentials: Depending on what is offered. Accredited counsellors or peer support.
Specialties: Workshops, peer support, mental health alleviation.
Access: In-Person or online.
Referral Requirements: Self-Referral to some resources, otherwise doctor or therapist referral.

Military Family Resource Centre Counselling (MFRC)
Resource: The MRFC is provided by the Canadian government and Canadian forces. They offer, “prevention, Support and Intervention (PSI) is a service designed to enhance the social and emotional well-being of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families.”
Credentials: Social workers
Specialties: The MRFC can help with family matters, counselling, and other military-related advice. They can also help with spousal deployment and childcare.

Referral Requirements: Must be regular force, reserve force, or immediate family of a service member.

Social Supports NB
Resource: The Department of Social Development uses this website to provide information and help for, “older adults, people living with a disability, and New Brunswickers who want to access housing programs.”
Credentials: Provides resources to accredited provincial organizations

Vitalite Mental Health Services
Resource: Vitalite Mental Health Services is New Brunswick’s French hospital mental health program.
Credentials: Mental Health Professionals
Specialties:

Resource: According to their website, “Wellness Together Canada was created in response to an unprecedented rise in mental health and substance use concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with funding from the Government of Canada. As a country, we are facing challenges at a scale we’ve never seen before, from social isolation and financial insecurity to substance use concerns and racial inequality.”

Crossroads for Women
Resource: Crossroads for Women describes their organization as, “helping women and children transition from crisis to empowerment by providing safe housing, education, counselling and support.”
Credentials: Mental health and crisis workers.
Specialties: Crossroads for women offers a transition house, shelters for women and children leaving abusive relationships, education, and counselling for victims of abuse.
Access: Women, children, trans, and non-binary.

The Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick
Resource: The Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, “provides quality programs and services free of charge to individuals living with dementia, their families and their care providers.”
Credentials: Depends on the service. Professionals available.

- A memory cafe event
- First Link, which is described as, a service that, “connects New Brunswick families living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia with services and supports as early as possible in their journey. If you’re a healthcare provider, you can download the referral form from this page”

Laura Gatien – Drop in Counselling
Resource: According to Laura, “One of our main goals is to remove barriers for people who want to access mental health services. People need to know they are not alone, that everyone struggles at some point in their lives.” This service offers free counselling on Fridays.
Credentials: Professional counselling services, for free.
Specialties: The following specialties are listed:

Resource: CHIMO is a New Brunswick hot-line for all-ages and groups suffering with crisis (mental illness) in the province.
Credentials: Volunteers-run hotline.

New Brunswick Children and Youth advocate
New Brunswick Children and Youth advocate provides information and advice to government, government agencies and communities about the availability, effectiveness, responsiveness, and relevance of services to children and youth; and acting as an advocate for the rights and interests of children and youth in general.
Credentials: Staff trained in advocacy, education and outreach for children, youth and seniors.
Specialties: Suicide Prevention and Youth Mental Health Services.
